Holiday Marketing 101: Christmas

Christmastime is almost here and we can't wait for the festivities. If you haven't already started marketing for the most wonderful time of the year, it's not too late. Try a few of our holiday marketing ideas and watch your sales soar like Santa's reindeer this Christmas season. It's time to pull out all the silver bells and whistles to get your shop in the holly jolly spirit!

More Than Flowers

Flowers are always a great gift, especially to a host or hostess of a holiday party. However, it is especially important during the Christmas season to offer a few other gift options in-store that customers can browse and give along with flowers, or use as stocking stuffers! Offer gift items like candles, blankets, and Christmas tree ornaments in addition to flowers and watch the sales pour in!

Gift Ideas

Instead of waiting for customers to browse and tell you what they want, put together a holiday gift guide with some ideas of the types of flowers they could send, along with perfectly paired gift items they could include. This will help customers save a little bit of time and energy when choosing what gifts to give, and it’s something they’ll definitely appreciate. Promote your gift guide on social media and in-store for optimal exposure.

Another great way to offer a helping hand to customers this season is by creating premade gift bundles. In addition to flowers, these bundles could include candy, fruit, and other snack foods, or home items like scented candles, lotions, bath bombs and more. Come up with a few different themed baskets and have these ready to go for customers in the Christmas rush!

Christmas Cards

Everyone loves receiving Christmas cards in the mail, so why not join in on the fun? Send personalized greeting cards to repeat customers, and include a small token of your appreciation, such as a coupon. Depending on how many cards you plan to send, a handwritten message is a great way to connect with your customers and show you care.

Special Holiday Designs

As always, special seasonal flower arrangements are a must. For Christmas, plan to use lots of red and white, along with greenery and gold or silver accents. If you’re up for trying new color schemes, mix red and teal, or white, silver and pastels for a vintage Christmas flair!

We can’t wait for Christmas, and we’re excited to see all of the beautiful things florists will do this season! You’ll be rockin’ around the Christmas tree in no time with these holiday marketing tips.
