Petal It Forward
On Wednesday, October 19th florists from all over the country will Petal It Forward, and you can too! The Society of American Florists created this campaign to show people that flowers have an immediate impact on happiness and a long-term positive effect on moods.
What is Petal It Forward?
Local florists will present two flower bouquets each to people throughout their town. Recipients are asked to “Petal It Forward” by giving one of their bouquets to someone special in their life, or even a stranger who could use a smile. They are encouraged to share how they Petaled It Forward by posting a picture using the hashtag #PetalItForward and tagging SAF’s Instagram, @About_Flowers or Twitter, @FlowerFactor.
Last year there were more than 40 Petal It Forward events across the country!
The campaign was a huge success and warmed many hearts! Watch this video that highlights last year’s Petal It Forward event in New York City.
SAF has provided many free resources that florists can use to prepare for their own Petal It Forward event. You can find a free press release, t-shirt template, social media messages and much more on their website.

We look forward to participating this year, our first time! We have a three generation shop tradition of hosting Free Flower Friday every week. This event ties in with our philosophy of giving our community members flowers, just for the joy of it!
