Getting Ready for Small Business Saturday

November 30th is the 10th annual Small Business Saturday! We think it’s a great idea for florists to get involved this year and draw more of your community into your shop. There are lots of great resources available to you to make Small Business Saturday a success.

American Express

As the sponsor of Small Business Saturday, American Express offers lots of resources for businesses to use. Create customized marketing materials for the event for FREE using their Shop Small Studio. They also provide a free 4-month trial of Ripl Pro, which is an online tool used to create great social media content. There are a ton of other great resources over on the American Express website to help you prepare for the day!

Advertising

Make sure your community knows that you’re participating in Small Business Saturday! Post on social media and create print materials to help promote the day and the deals you’ll be offering. Use Canva to create custom graphics, or use Shop Small Studio as mentioned above. Don’t forget to use the hashtags #ShopSmall, #SmallBizSat, and #SmallBusinessSaturday.

Events

Get involved with other small businesses in your area and hold a Small Business Saturday event. You could create a map of all of the participating business and the deals they’re offering. Or, you could do something as simple as setting up a table in front of your shop and handing out some freebies! Events like these should draw additional attention to small businesses like yours.

Deals

Make sure you plan what deals you’re going to be offering in plenty of time to promote them! Buy-one-get-one offers or small discounts are a great way to draw customers to you, or you could offer them something like free delivery when they make a purchase on Small Business Saturday.

Small Business Saturday can be a great boost for your business! Make the most of it by planning in advance. Tell everyone you know to shop small on November 30th!
